Top 10 Movies

Hello all! As many of you know, or will find out, movies are my life! However when someone asks me what my favorite movie is, I can't give them a direct answer because I love so many. However I decided to try and right a top ten movie list for my first list and soon will right ones that are a bit more in depth or genre specific. But for now I decided to write about the 10 movies I wouldn't be able to live without. So, let's begin! (edited as of June 2020)

10. The Impossible

Tom Holland is amazing. I'm just going to say it now. This boy was about 12 when he made this and he has more acting abilities and raw emotion in his pinky finger than some actors do in their whole body. This movie is simultaneously so heart breaking, and heart warming. To see the battles this family goes through, but to feel there love is amazing.

9. The Greatest Showman

I love musicals almost more than I do period pieces. The Greatest Showman's message, identified in "This is Me" is wonderful. It is a beautiful musical with music that should have won the Oscar if you are asking me...

8. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

I mean it kind of speaks for itself. So iconic.

7. Beauty and the Beast (cartoon and live action)

I'm considering the live action and cartoon version as one movie because both are so good. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie. The music is amazing, and the live action did not disappoint!

6. It

I hate scary movies. Let's get that one thing straight. However, It doesn't feel like a scary movie because of the amazing child actors and the script. They make the movie. PERIOD. They are hilarious and have impeccable comedic timing that doesn't match what their age would suggest. A great movie with beautiful cinematography.

5. Fantastic Beasts

You are probably thinking: "What the heck? What about all the Harry Potter's?" Well, I absolutely love Harry Potter and if I put those in here, then it would take up half the list. Plus, I honestly have started to think that Fantastic Beasts may be better than the HP movies just because we have nothing to compare it to (i.e. the HP books) to pick at and dissect the faults.

Plus he's a Hufflepuff. #represent

4. Signs

As I stated before I hate scary movies, and although this seems to always be advertised as a scary movie, it definitely isn't one in my opinion. I love it because not only is the cinematography beautiful, but it also shows the struggles of a religious man with his faith during a time of crisis. And if that isn't one of the most relatable human things then I don't know what is. Plus it has some iconic lines: "Swing away Merrill."

3. Spiderman Homecoming

Many people have deluded themselves to think that the other two live action versions of Spiderman are better than this one. They are wrong. Tom Holland is an amazing actor and brings the innocence of a teenager to the character since that's what Spiderman is supposed to be! Not only that but Tom Holland's raw emotion is seen throughout the entire movie. This boy is an amazing actor and has been since a young age. If you don't believe me, PLEASE watch The Impossible. It is amazing and him along side Naomi Watts is something to be reckoned with.

2. Belle

I was introduced to this movie about 6 years ago. I love period dramas. Overall they are probably my favorite movie genre. This movie, about a mixed raced woman in 1700s England, did not disappoint. Not only that but its message to love who you are and to see past the color of skin is so motivating. I actually watched this on a retreat and I fell in love with it. The beauty of England is captured, along with the beauty of people's souls.

1. Pearl Harbor

This is arguably my favorite movie. And you are probably thinking what the heck? Most people who have seen this movie either hate it or love it. I love it. Yes, the historical aspect isn't completely accurate. But it still shows the devastation and aftermath of the "day that would live in infamy". Not only that but, again, Hans Zimmer's musical score is so beautiful that I cry every time I hear it. The acting isn't great but the cinematography makes up for it all to make me love it and say it is my number 1.
